Social Media for Your Business - The Basics

The world of social media is a vast expanse and can be extremely overwhelming, especially if you run your own business.  This presentation will provide you with knowledge and skills to help you carve out your own piece of social media space for your business - even if you only have 30 minutes a week to spare.

About Ophelia Cohen

Ophelia Cohen is the founder of Hedera Digital, a Leeds based social media management and consultancy business. Hedera Digital focusses on helping small and independent businesses with social media, especially those who are not active on social media. Ophelia’s previous role was IT/Communications Support at the University of Leeds where she worked in the Wellbeing, Safety and Health Department and was responsible for all aspects of IT, online communications and software support.  Working in a support role and providing staff with IT skills is one of the core values of Hedera Digital. Ophelia feels that anyone should be able to set up and manage a social media account for their business and her business tagline is 'Adapt ~ Grow ~ Flourish'.
Outside of work Ophelia is a huge ballet and live music fan and loves to discover new off-road cycle routes with her friends.
Ophelia is currently volunteering with the charity Friends of Hyde Park Cinema (Leeds) to refresh and develop their online presence.

IT Support Agreements

I aim to give an understanding of IT support agreements which are generally available. Additionally I will talk a little about IT Security.

About Gary Holdsworth

I joined the IT industry in 1990 and have worked for various IT resellers and Managed Print resellers. During these years I have studied Business and Finance at Bradford College gaining my BA (hons) degree in Business Administration and I have sat many industry training courses such as, Microsoft Server Sales Specialist, PaperCut Sales Specialist, Sophos Sales Specialist, HP print Sales Specialist, Canon Sales Specialist. In the 1990’s I built a client base from zero to a value of £1.5m turnover and sustained this for 9 years managing clients varying from small/medium business through to local government and enterprise sized organisations. For the last six years I have worked specifically with IT support and services providers, joining Biscuit IT in October 2018. I joined Biscuit IT as they are a young IT support provider, trading for almost three years and part of the Secure Technical Services Group, along with our sister company Yorkshire Telecommunications who have been trading for around thirty years. My role with Biscuit IT is Business Development Manager and I am tasked with expanding our client base of support agreements to grow the business. I am always looking to speak with any organisation which is struggling with IT and any current IT support provision.
